We made it safe and sound!! It was a good day to travel, and I really missed being on the boat. Living in the RV is not going to be easy knowing the boat is only 1 hour or so away from me. Rita has already made plans to be on the boat more. Goodness, I love that woman!!

We arrived at “The Boat House” FKA Beacon Marine around 9:30 or so. They already had the boat in the slings and just waiting to go in the water. After paying the bill and parking the car outside of the marina (the marina is totally locked in after hours) we splashed.

First thing to do is make sure we have no leaks. Doubled check all the through-hulls or holes in the boat that have something in them. No water intrusion! We had a 11:10 am opening for the Canadian Pacific Railroad bridge. I called and they were willing to open around 10:30 am for us. So about 10:25 we left, but the railroad guy was stationed at another bridge and didn’t get there until 10:45 am or so. That is fine, we went back and forth until the bridge opened. We talked with the city of Milwaukee bridges on the radio and they opened when the railroad bridge opened as well. Straight through we went.

Once we were in the Milwaukee Harbor I remember to turn on Nebo. I’ll get better and remember to turn everything on and off. I forgot to turn the tracking off on one of my navigation apps and recorded the drive from Sheboygan to Milwaukee to Beaver Dam to Columbus as if I was on the boat! I have accurate numbers on the Simrad chart plotter, but I am back on the RV and don’t have access to that information.

Now, I didn’t turn on Nebo right away so these numbers are not perfect. And I forgot to turn off my tracking on Aqua Maps so those numbers are not accurate either. Nebo is the closest, so we are going with that!!
