Travel day April 02, 24 (Cumberland Island to Jekyll Island) Travel day #66 and Stats

Scott here. Late on this sorry! We decided on a short travel today. Initial plan was to go from Jacksonville to Jekyll Island, but we decided we wanted to stop at Cumberland Island. The joys of no super detailed plan, we can make changes as we see fit!

Good thing this was a planned short day. We went to the island to take a walk and when we arrived back to the boat the dredge had moved blocking the entire river. Quick call on the radio and the dredge captain said they were moving pipes and he didn’t know how long it will take. I guess we will eat lunch before pulling up the anchor!

About an hour later we were able to leave. Again, no major issues for the day. I found it interesting the ICW took us close enough to put our toes in the ocean then back inland. Our anchorage wasn’t too far from there.

The wind picked up and there were 3 other boats in our anchorage, but there is plenty of room for us. We dropped 80’ of anchor rode and have been comfortable so far and have swung 360 degrees due to a tide change and loss of wind.
