Scott here. Day late, sorry! We had a decent run from Jacksonville to Cumberland Island. We anchored near Plum Orchard and were treated by wild horses. I’ll let Rita tell you about the island and our adventures there.
Our anchorage was off the ICW on the Brickhill River. There was a dredge in front of half the opening to the river, the half I was planning on using to get in. I asked the dredge captain if it was safe to go in on the other side and it was; although we hit 7’ of water, we were still good.
The only problem with anchoring was a stupid crab pot. We swung around when walking Jazzy and were over the pot. We moved the boat with the dinghy and were able to grab the pot and pull it to the side of the river in line with the rest of them.
No more issues. A good solid hold and a good nights sleep!
