Travel day April 1, 24 (Jacksonville to Cumberland Island) Travel day # 65

Scott here. After a number of days in Jacksonville visiting family and celebrating Resurrection Day it is time to move on again. That is not a joke!

Our initial plan was to stop at Jekyll Island, but we decided to have a shorter day and spend some time at Cumberland Island and maybe see some wild horses would be fun. Hopefully the anchorage we picked is empty and we have plenty of time to explore.

Initial Plan
Date: April 1, 2024

Crew: Captain Scott, 1st Mate Rita, & K9 Jazzy
Start at: 7:00 am
End at: 12:30 pm
Total Time: 5.5 hours (5:03 travel time plus time for no wake zones and anchoring)
Distance: 45.5 miles

Hazards for the day
Shoaling of course. We have one 5′ railroad bridge, but it is always open unless a train is coming.
