Scott here with our long travel day stats!
January 14, 2024 was a travel day as we left the mooring field at Sand Dollar Beach at Stocking Island. Our intended destination was Hooper’s Bay. But, once we got in there it was looking rocky. Thinking back, with the position of the sun, I don’t believe we could see the bottom very well and it was probably grass patches and not rocks.
So, we left Hooper’s Bay and backtracked to Monument Beach North Anchorage and dropped the hook. Only 2.5 miles from where we left! Why did we leave? The mooring field is brand new and the mooring balls were free until Jan. 15. Starting tomorrow at noon we had to be gone or pay about $37 a night. I like free better! We had to start heading north anyhow. 😅
We relaxed, snorkeled, saw a beautiful sunset, walked Jazzy, and enjoyed each other’s company this evening. Like most nights!
Tomorrow we will dinghy back to Hooper’s Bay, check out the bottom to see if it was rocks or grass and buy some meat at Prime Meat and look for clothes pins at AID. Not necessarily in that order! Then we need to decide where to go. Hooper’s Bay or up to Black Cay. My plan will be for Black Cay, but it may change after we get back from our errands. Here is today’s stats.
