Travel day # 44 stats

Scott here.  Today we abruptly decided the weather was right to go to Nassau. After a quick check-out and conversation with our boat neighbors who are also heading to Nassau today and making their way to George Town for Christmas with family.   I had the route all ready made so knowing where and how long was the easy part.

We knew it was not going to be a smooth run like we had from Bimini to Chub Cay, but it was a little rougher than expected about 60% into the day.  Our 2-3 foot waves and swells turned to more 4-5 waves and swells. Not exactly on the beam (side of our boat).  Think of the bow as 12 o’clock, they were hitting us about 10 o’clock. That is what I expected, just a little smaller.

By God’s grace we made it thru and followed a 118’ yacht into the harbor. We decided to stay at a marina tonight as we really wanted to get a pump out and needed fuel and have a good solid sleep.

Fuel was had, pump out will happen before we leave, and I am not sure about the sleep. We are rocking and rolling and not in a fun way!

Anyway, let’s see how the plan came together.

Start at: 9:00 am ACTUAL 9:55 am
End at: 2:15 pm ACTUAL 2:57 pm
Total Time: 5:15 hours (4:53 travel time + no wake zones) ACTUAL 5:20 HOURS
Distance: 44.1 miles ACTUAL 44.3 miles

That is pretty good!  We finally put fuel in again. I have not put it in my spreadsheet yet, so I don’t have all the details. We put in 118.027 gallons at $5.51 for $650.32 plus $65.03 VAT for $715.35. Not sure what the $21.45 charge is on the receipt. I’ll ask.
