Travel Day #34 stats

Scott here. It was a boring day today. It was foggy after we left our anchorage. I knew it was hazy, but it turned into thick fog in no time. FL boaters don’t seem to be the most patient or smart ones out there. They are going way to fast in the fog and you get waked by these super yachts like crazy!

We stopped at The Landing, a private marina/yacht club for fuel and water. The seemed to be the cheapest in the area. It is very shallow getting in there and you only have room for one boat going one way in the channel. But, the dock hand was super nice and knew what she was doing. We only took 27 minutes to fuel and water up and we were off. The fog was all burned off and we are good to go!

My stats didn’t save, so I have to go by the planning and actual time.

Start at: 8:30 am ACTUAL 8:00 AM
End at: 3:15 pm ACTUAL 3:38 PM
Total Time: 6:45 hours (5:45 travel + fuel and no wake zones) ACTUAL 7:38
Distance: 51.8 miles No actual, so we will go with this!

Fuel was minimal at 74.911 gallons at $4.799 for $359.50. With total engine hours of 34.3 and mileage of 148.7 I get 2.18 GPH fuel burn with 1.98 miles per gallon.

For the first time we had a hard time setting our anchor. We tried one spot and failed miserably. So we moved to different location 2-3 hundred yards up the river. It took a couple of times there, but we had a little more room to work at it. And, for the first time we put out a stern anchor as well. We are on the river with not a lot of wiggle room. So, the stern anchor should help keep us straight along with the river current.

This is where we are tonight!
