I think my favorite travel day so far has been the one from Cuba Landing to Clinton Marina. It was so calm the water was like glass. Here are some pics from both places and the sights along the way.
While the marinas may not have all the frills of some other places, the people are above and beyond! At Cuba Landing, I was talking with Sharon (she and her husband run the marina), and we got on the topic of food. She used to weigh over 200 lbs and now is so petite all because she decided one day she wanted to eat differently. I’m not sure exactly what all that entailed, but I do know poké bowls were involved. This is a traditional Hawaiian dish with raw fish, rice and various other ingredients of your choosing. Poké means ‘chunk’ and that is how you cut the fish which is usually ahi tuna. Anyhow, that’s what it is basically, and I think they’re delicious. She ended up giving me almost every ingredient to make multiple poké bowls including some great tuna and a homemade Asian mayo! Her generosity is amazing!
At Clifton we were welcomed at the dock by pretty much the whole staff. When we had lunch at the restaurant on site, multiple stopped to chat, ask how we were doing, what we needed, etc. They were all so caring, and the food was very good.
That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy the pics. Make it a great day! Be a blessing and be blessed
There is an eagles nest at the top of that tree. Sharon told me they have two babies, but all was quiet when Jazzy & I were walking.
So w.e have found that in some places people extend the dock behind their boat and then turn this area into a cozy hang out spot – see next pic
Cool, right?!
Here’s where we tied up.
Some beauty on the way there. It was a little windy that day
I know ‘another barge/tow pic 🙄’ but this is interesting because the tow is between the barges instead of behind. Just thought I’d share that.
The sights were so beautiful. I wish I could capture them better.
At the beginning of our morning walk
Look how calm that water is!.
Deer 😁
Here’s where we were docked for the night. The next day, Beach House crossed their wake 🙌🏼
The restaurant at Clifton has a totally beachy vibe
Well, beachy without the halloween stuff.
Beautiful, low-maintenance backyard with an unobstructed view?
Our wake even looks glassy
See that yellow rope? Some guy was actually at the bottom of that rope heading over to the ladder you can kind of see through the trees. I wonder what he was doing, and I hope he gets paid a lot of money to do it.
Interesting rock formation. God is very creative
Picturesque setting for fishing.
I want to know the story about how this car got there because I could not see any sign of a road, nor did I see anybody nearby. Maybe we’ve been traveling too long and my imagination is getting the best of me 😬
