Rita getting caught up on my posts! I have been only posting on Facebook and I want to get everyone caught up who are only following us on the blog!
This is my version of a coffee table book. Pictures with captions of our journey from the anchorage in Cairo (Kay-ro) to Paducah, KY.
Also, if you’re sad I didn’t to go to the Quilt Museum, see the post I shared of someone who did go and took lots of great photos. I hope you enjoy Make it a great day! Be a blessing and be blessed
This is Olmstead Lock. We had to wait quite awhile to get in, but once in everything went smooth 🙏🏼🙌🏻
Now we’re on the Ohio River, and after the lock, it’s so much wider, prettier scenery. There also weren’t barges parked all over the place and not many tows either.
OK. How did that happen?! 😮 These two objects should look the same. Heck, there’s a tree on that broken one!
Paducah – Historic Downtown was a very nice area. Most stuff was closed because it’s Monday. I thought that was interesting.
We did find a place to eat with our new friends, Tim & Dale. Good fun!
This is titled “On the Trail of Discovery” representing the expedition of Lewis & Clark and the indigenous people they met along the way
More beautiful scenery.
They are dredging outside the lock. The top pic shows how long it is. The middle pic is the right end, and the bottom pic is the left end. I’m the background of the bottom pic you can see one of the boats we were traveling with – Dove.
We’ve seen so many bald eagles along the way, but I never get a pic before they fly away. I barely got this one.
My view while I was driving 😁 I’ll drive the boat for a little bit, but no way do I wanna drive the RV. Way more wiggle room on the open water than any street 😊
Cows!! Yay!! I haven’t seen any cows for so long.
Two thoughts – 1) isn’t that blue bridge a beautiful color? 2) the bridge in front of it – the Old US 60 Cumberland “Smithland” Bridge – is scheduled for destruction on Nov 2nd.
This woman lives in her canoe. She was by the shoreline across from where we docked in Paducah She had a fire going, playing some music. Just a total sense of peace about her.
This is atop a hill near the river. Look how high that water has gotten.
This one is in the downtown area about 4 blocks away from the previous pic.
All tucked in for the night 💤
This is the following morning. It looks like the earth is on fire 🔥
Spooky!
Take a close look 👀 It appears that those poles stopped the fog because it’s only foggy on one half the dock.
Sometimes it’s chilly, and Jazzy actually let me put a blanket on her ❤️❤️
