Travel Day #16 stats

Scott here! October 22, 2023, was travel day #16. Paris Landing to Cuba Landing.

We are starting to enjoy this trip more and more! (Well, only 1 “more” for Rita at this point!) We were up early (Rita wakes up way too early in my book!) and we walked the dog around the state park for an hour or so. It was a little windy getting off the dock, but we have the best 1st mate and she made it look easy. We scooted over to the fuel dock and put a little dinosaur squeezing’s into MY Happiness. See below for details. Then we headed out of the channel and took a right. Kentucky Lake all the way to our next stop. Very pretty surroundings, but I didn’t take a lot of pictures.

Start at: 9:00 am ACTUAL 8:50 am to the fuel dock, left there at 9:10 am
End at: 3:00 pm ACTUAL 2:35 PM
Total Time: 5:31 hours ACTUAL 5:49 hours
Distance: 49.7 miles ACTUAL 50.5 miles

Close enough in my book!!

If you are ever in the area TN Paris Landing State Park is a great place. Marina, campground, lodge, restaurant, and lots of woods. I think we could have spent 2 or 3 days just exploring the park and enjoying mother nature. But, alas, we need to get to the Bahamas!

We topped off the fuel tank and put 48.989 gallons in at $4.599 for $220.70. We ran the engines 23.1 hours since the last fill up for 2.07 gallons per hour. We also traveled 89.9 miles for 1.8 miles per gallon. It isn’t 2.9 mpg, but still better than my long-range planning of 1 mpg.

We are now at a small marina, Cuba Landing. Not much to look at, but the people here are super nice. I would definitely come back again if we travel down the river system again..
