Paducah Transient Docks to Grand Rivers, KY where Green Turtle Bay Marina and Resort sits. Today was a pretty easy travel day. We moved from our slip to the fuel dock and waited for an employee to get the fuel and pump our ready. We needed a pump out more that fuel, but we were not overflowing with our black tank. Thank goodness!! Because that is just ugly.
We were on the Ohio River for about 7-10 miles or so then took a right turn on the Cumberland River. It didn’t seem right. It felt like we were going into a creek the size difference was so much, but it was right. I had to trust the charts and keep going. I was happy we didn’t have to pass any barges, because it would have been tight.
Once we hit the Cumberland I slowed down to about 8.5 mph waiting for our buddy boat Carmel to catch up. They need gas and a pump-out after us and was following a slower boat for a while. We just kept at that pace as we had plenty of time.
No major changes in todays plan.
Start at: 8:30 am ACTUAL 8:15 AM
End at: 3:00 pm ACTUAL 2:46 PM
Total Time: 6:24 hours (4:54 travel hours plus 1 lock) ACTUAL 6:41 Hours
Distance: 44.2 miles ACTUAL 45.6 miles
In Paducah we put in 72.188 gallon of diesel fuel at $4.912 per gallon for $355.16. We traveled 58.4 hours for a burn rate of 1.2 gallons per hour. Generator run time is just incorporated into this as we don’t have an hour meter on t9.8he generator. During that 58.4 hours we traveled 209.8 miles which is 2.9 mpg. Which is amazing in my book!

I will see you in Saturday morning when I post our float plan for Saturday. Time for some rest!!
