We have the fixed props!

Fixed props

June 19, 2023 I took a road trip to St. Cloud, MN to pick up the props. With stops, 5 1/2 hours to get there, 20 minutes on site and 5 1/2 hours to get home. Worth it though.

They sure do look different don’t they? I didn’t know they could look so good. I almost hate to put them on the boat and put the boat in the water for 9 months or so! But, I did.

You can see the “key way” on the center of the prop. A “Key”, small piece of metal does in there and there is a similar key way on the shaft. That is what connects the prop to the shaft so it spins and makes the boat move forward.

Two nuts hold the prop on the shaft. A large nut and another about 1/2 the size. I used the larger nut to help position the prop on the shaft, took it off then put the smaller nut next to the prop then the bigger nut on the outside. I don’t know why, that is how the nuts go on, so I follow the rules! Then I install a cotter pin to ensure the nuts don’t slip off from vibration. It wasn’t to difficult to do and I was able to do it myself with the help from Noah.

Looks like we might launch Thursday next week and dock on the river in Sheboygan until July 6 when we will move her to the Harbor Centre Marina until the week after Labor Day.
