Is this our last travel day?!? Sort of, for this leg of the journey. I have to admit I am sad. We have had so many adventures over the last 161 days (this leg ends Monday, April 10, 2023) it is crazy thinking back about it. IT IS NOT THE END!
This next leg I have dubbed “2023 Summer”. Rita is heading to the Minneapolis area to see family while I stay in the Sheboygan area to get the boat ready to splash. I need to put my TO DO list on paper so I can be crossing stuff off and see that I am making a dent.
We will start the Great Loop in early May and keep the boat at Henry Harbor Marina on the IL River. The exact date isn’t set yet when we will splash and then move the boat to the IL River. I am blocking off one week and it will probably take 4-5 days. More on that to come.
Today, we drove 187 miles in 3:12 travel time with about 2:20 actual moving time. We dumped our tanks and filled Mac up at a Flying J in South Beloit. Mac drank 34.926 gallons at $3.549 for $123.95. Our MGP will drop significantly as we used the generator a lot over the last two days, 11.1 hours. I figure .75-1 gallon per hour of gas for generator use.
We will be boondocking in a family driveway until Monday then we will move to Kohler-Andrea State Park in Sheboygan. I will have a separate post about total stays and the cost as well as the cost for gas for Mac.
Until then continue to celebrate Passover and our Lord’s Resurrection!
