We had another short travel day today. Out time was up at Oak Creek Campground. The place did it’s job, but we will not be back! We are on our way into Cincinnati, Ohio for a week. Four days with family and three days just to ourselves. We left the campground at 10:51 am. We had to stop for propane! We were back down to 3/8 of a tank and our rooftop electric heaters are not able to keep up with the cold! So it switches automatically to propane. That’s all right. I don’t want to be cold!!
The closest propane was Flying J and we were driving right by, but in my infinite wisdom I didn’t want to go there due to the left turn out of the parking lot and traffic is always a bear at that intersection. So we just went 1/2 mile up the road to Tractor Supply. I like them, usually pretty good with a good price. But, the first person I talked to either didn’t call someone or just blew me off. I went back in and waited for them to acknowledge that someone answered the radio and was on the way. The young woman that came out assured me she was certified, but asked me how to do it and called someone on the radio a couple of times asking questions. I told her to call someone to come out and show her how to do it. She didn’t, I then said to disconnect and I will go to the Flying J; then she called someone to come help her. Either way, 33 minutes later we were on our way with 8.3 gallons of propane.
Out total travel time was, including propane fill up, was 1:15 with 40 minutes of moving time. Garmin said we drove 30 miles.
Taylor’s Landing RV Park and Boat Ramp is a very basic place. There are actually no employees here. We are right on the Ohio River just 15 minutes from downtown. We have full-hooks (water, electric, and sewer); I would say 3/4 of the sites appear to be full-time residents. I am more happy with this place than the place we left. Would I want to stay here 6 months? No, but that is OK!
