(Scott here)
I have learned why I have started to really hate Facebook. I had this post all done and didn’t type it in Word or anyplace else and Facebook’s “Meta Business Suite” crashed and I lost everything…again. So, we are going to try posting on a blog website using WordPress and pushing our posts to Facebook and that Instagram thing. We will see how that works before going “all in” on the WordPress thing.
So we didn’t actually go into Nashville while we were at the Cedars of Lebanon State Park. We didn’t feel like it was necessary as we are planning a “side trip” to Nashville on the boat. From the Mississippi River we will head north on the Ohio River and past Pudacah we will cut over to the the Cumberland River. The Cumberland River becomes Lake Barkley then becomes the Cumberland River again as it comes out of the south tip of the lake and heads to Nashville. I am planning on 3 days to get there, 5-7 days there and another 3 days there. In my head I have it planned for two-weeks expecting weather delays and just feel like stopping delays. Who knows, plans are made to be changed!
Let’s get back to our travel day! We left the state park at 9:11 am and arrived at Taylorsville, KY State Park at 2:00 pm. Garmin said we drove 189 miles in 3:36 moving time and 3:45 total time. We did make a small detour looking for gas, but the gas stations were too small so we just kept going without a stop.
We will be here for 4 days as then move north 2 hours to Verona, KY where we will meet up with family to experience the Ark Encounter. Rita will have multiple posts on that I am sure. We are in another area with limited internet. I left Rita at home while I drove into town to use the internet at the public library.
